Our care guide helps you look after your spring–summer wardrobe in a gentle, sustainable and enjoyable way.
At BIBICO, we believe in wearing often and washing less. Natural fibres are alive in their own way — they breathe, soften, relax and recover. Hanging a piece overnight allows the fibres to release odours naturally. Washing less helps garments retain their structure, colour and integrity over time, while also being kinder to the planet.

How to care for your materials
Cotton
Cotton is a soft, versatile fabric perfect for everyday wear. Its natural comfort makes it ideal for all seasons and easy to care for.
We recommend washing cotton items with a mild detergent in cold or lukewarm water to preserve softness and colour. Avoid hot water, as this can cause shrinkage. Rinse thoroughly and air dry whenever possible. Store cotton in a cool, dry place to keep it fresh.
Denim
Denim is an investment piece — its character and fit improve with time.
Airing denim between wears helps reduce the need for washing and saves water and energy. When a wash is needed, always turn garments inside out, use a cold cycle with a mild detergent, and wash with similar colours to preserve the dye and reduce fading.
To maintain the original shape, avoid tumble drying. Instead, hang to air dry and gently reshape while damp.
Linen
Linen is a natural, breathable fabric known for its lightness and airy feel, making it perfect for warmer weather.
Wash with mild soap in lukewarm water, and rinse gently rather than scrubbing. Allow linen to air dry naturally and store it somewhere it can breathe. The more gently you treat linen, the longer it will stay fresh, soft and beautiful.

Dry naturally
One of the best choices for both your garments and the planet is to let them air dry. Remove clothes from the machine promptly to prevent creasing and mildew. Give them a gentle shake, reshape, and dry on a rack or hanger whenever possible.

Sustainability — make every wash count
Caring for a garment is one of the simplest ways we can reduce our environmental impact. Well-made natural clothing can last for years rather than months, reducing production demand, cutting waste, and keeping materials in circulation.
Every wash uses water, energy and detergent — and frequent washing can gradually wear down fibres, shape and colour. For those who care about sustainability, laundry habits truly matter.

Climate- and clothing-friendly washing checklist
• Wash at 30°C or below
• Run full but not overloaded loads to reduce friction
• Use eco-friendly detergent — and only what you need
• Remove clothes promptly after washing
• Air dry whenever possible — give garments a gentle shake and hang
• Dry inside out in the shade to help preserve colour
• Repair rather than replace — learn simple fixes or support a local repair service
• Spot clean and steam to reduce washing
• Pass on pieces you no longer need by selling or donating
Proper care helps garments last longer, conserves natural resources, and reduces textile waste.
