Spice is nice when it’s cold outside

Cook up a batch of spiced warm cider and invite your friends in out of the cold. We promise they’ll love you for it.
Spiced Warm Cider
• 1 1/2 litres apple cider
• 65g dark brown sugar
• 2 sticks cinnamon
• 5 whole allspice berries or 1 tsp. ground allspice
• 1 (1/2 inch by 1/2 inch) chunk fresh ginger, peeled
• 3 whole cloves
• 8 slices orange

Directions
1. In a large saucepan, combine cider, sugar, cinnamon sticks, allspice berries (or ground allspice), ginger, and cloves. Heat to a simmer and allow to cook 20 minutes. Strain into a punch bowl and garnish with orange slices. Serve warm.

We are pleased to be a part of Sustainable fashion show 2009. The show’s ethos fits with bibico’s philosophy. The show has been organised by The Living Room and Bud UK Ltd. Alice Crocker of Star FM will compere and local charities Penny Brohn Cancer Care and Sustrans Bristol will benefit from a fundraising raffle on the night.

All the suppliers and designers are committed to sustainability and it will be a fantastic showcase of eco fashion from Bristol & beyond!

Topshop continues to get behind the growing presence of Fair Trade fashion on the high-street. Following bibico’s successful debut with the Spring/Summer 09 Collection in the Oxford Circus store bibico will be selling the Autumn/Winter 09 Collection in-store from the 20th of September.

Launching as part of the AW/09 collection is a new line in knitwear. Designer Nieves specialises in knitwear design and after the success of her first bibico collection she was keen to include some knitwear pieces. The classic striped jumpers, pretty cardi’s and chunky knits are now available to purchase on-line.
With this new-line we also had to find a new producer group that was talented with a pair of knitting needles. We were lucky to find a group of artisans and highly skilled knitters in the hills of Nepal. This Fair Trade certified group are the people who are making Nieves’ designs into jumpers and cardi’s that we can wrap up in this winter!

One of the good things about winter, other than log fires and warm country pubs, is treating yourself to a couple of new things to keep you gorgeous and cosy. Our Autumn/Winter 09 collection is a mix of stylish but simple dresses that can be dressed up or down, flirty skirts and classic stripes.
